Another edition of Galaxia's Greatest Games featuring another one in our personal collection of hoops...This time we take a time machine back to the year 2001, which I can honestly say was "My Year". Fun truly highlighted everything from school to days and nights on the beach to this classic black summer's night. This was June 6th of that sexy summer and Game 1 of the NBA Finals featuring the Philadelphia 76ers vs. The Los Angeles Lakers. "Showtime 2.0" had just Katarina Witt-ed their way through the first three rounds of the playoffs...undefeated! So here comes the east coast squad from the city of Rocky and cheese steaks, to give their best effort to dethrone the champs. What unfolded was a flat out classic in front of all of La La Land's rich and pretty and left the Lakers stuck under the bridge. Iverson hip-hopped to 48 points, Philly shocked the world for one nite and had me working on a particular 3 point shot on the playground dreaming I was A.I. in the Finals. And amazingly enough, 10 years later it has become one of Galaxia's Greatest Games. Who knew!
